Japanese watercolour palette
Our Japanese watercolour palette includes the more unusual and unique colours inspired by traditional Japanese watercolour painting.
A collection of jewel-like colours. Enjoy the harmonies of soft and dark shades with vivid bold colours to add accent and contrast.
Japanese Collection includes these six colours:
Yellow Iron Oxide PY42
A warm earthy yellow.
Vermillion Hue PR4 PY1 PW21
A bright red-orange.
Smalt Blue PB32
A delicate and transparent blue that packs a punch with its granulation. From our historical pigment range.
Vine Black PBK8
An age-old pigment from prehistoric times. This black is dark with cool tones.
Genuine Haematite PR102
Deep rich reddish brown with strong earthy values. From our earth pigment range.
Malachite PG39
Malachite was widely used in traditional Japanese paintings for its beautifully soft and ethereal green.
The Japanese Collection comes in a pocket sized tin. The six half pans are secured by magnets therefore arranging or replacing colours is easy. The characteristics of each colour is illustrated by a hand painted insert.
Your tin of handmade watercolours will arrive through the door in a letterbox friendly box.
We make our watercolours in small batches using the traditional process of hand mulling and using our own binder in which to suspend the pigments. Find out how we make our watercolours in About Us.
We source our pigments from reputable suppliers of fine art:
